The Receiver console component  (AS-1004R) comes equipped with a built in four channel scanner and large 7 segment digital display so you will always know the channel being viewed.  A freeze button is used to hold the channel and stop the scanning process.  Unused cameras can be skipped during scanning.

Range is up to 300 feet within a home or office setting, much higher if line-of-sight.  The 2.4 GHz technology allows multiple cameras, though signal strength is dependent somewhat on obstacles between transmitter and receiver.   A high 2 dBi gain rubber duck antenna is employed to maximize transmitter distance.

Additional wireless cameras can be purchased (Model #AS-1004T).  If more than 4 locations must be monitored, but not simultaneously, unused cameras can be switched on of off as needed.  For example, if 6 cameras are used, three cameras can be used for the front of a building during the day, and three can be used for the rear at night.  The receiver can still accommodate the three cameras, so by juggling cameras a wider coverage area can be handled. 

External ASB-1000 amplifiers are not compatibla with this design.
